Hello I am Andrew Bright and I have been working to promote Self Advocacy for 23 years starting out as the co-ordinator for People First London Boroughs. In 1997 I began working as an Information Worker for Values into Action where I developed my training skills and in 1998 I became an Official Consultant for the National Centre for Independent Living. By 2000 I had set up my own Training Company Bright Enterprises delivering training around Training the Trainers, Self Advocacy and Empowerment which I believe are very important.
In 2007 I started working for Thera as a Service Quality Director. My job is to make sure that people get the best and most empowering support from Thera North. I use my experience of having a learning disability to do this. I am also a keen champion for people having opportunities to do great things with their lives and in 2012 I helped to develop Dolphins Den a Thera Trust Project to encourage and mentor people with learning disabilities to set up their own enterprises. I am here to give people a voice and encourage people to be active members in their Thera company, their communities and the world in general.
